To qualify an applicant must have completed two-three years in an accredited undergraduate program; demonstrate outstanding academic credentials; clearly identify the relevance of the applicant's academic program to the business field; and specifically outline the applicant's professional and career goals as they relate to advancing women in the field of business.   Rae Ross Ccommunity Service Award

There are those people who open their hearts to others…Who never think twice about giving of themselves. They are the wonderful, warm-hearted people who make all the difference!

Let me tell you a Little bit about the person in whose honor and memory we have named the Rae Ross Award. Rae Ross will always be remembered with a smile! She was a tireless volunteer in all facets of her life. One of her favorites was the Manna food Bank where she was a weekly volunteer for many years. In her career as a Realtor, she volunteered as a member of the Association of Realtors board and was named their Realtor of the Year in 1990. She was a mentor to many entering the Real Estate profession and to women in business.

Rae joined our Zonta Club of the Conejo Valley Area in 1980 and it soon became evident that she was a worker! She served on m any committees, on the Board, and was our Club President for two terms- from 1984-1986.

Special Kid's Day was a particular love of Rae's. It was she who convinced Zonta on the idea that our club would be the permanent sponsor and organizers for this wonderful Conejo Valley Days Activity that pairs handicapped children with volunteers from the community for a morning of carnival, rides, games and lunch for all. Of course, Rae took the leadership role and was our chair for the event, coordinating this monumental event for 2 years!. Then she moved up to the Conejo Valley Days Steering committee to chair the Sponsorship Committee. To nominate someone in the Conejo Valley Area for the Rae Ross Award, contact us at: Zonta Club of the Conejo Valley Area, P.O. Box 4832, Thousand Oaks, CA. 91359.

Applicants are asked to reflect on their lives, their commitment to the communities in which they live, and the role models that have inspired them to become involved in their community or in a specific prospective career.
