This was a terrific
opportunity to gain visibility for our club with little time commitment
and reasonable cost. The Expo was a table-top display type of show that
ran from 5:00pm - 8:00pm on Thursday, September 5th. The Thousand Oaks
Chamber of Commerce held this event at the Hyatt Westlake Plaza Hotel
There were over 70 display booths, terrific food samples from BJ's,
Le Rendez-Vous, Champagne French Bakery, Warner Center Marriott, and
the Hyatt. KHAY 100.7FM & B95.. This was not only a time to show off
what Zonta has to offer, but was also a great time to network with the
other Chamber member businesses!
This year we created
our table top display by purchasing re-usable presentation panels and
designing our own graphics that highlighted our Service Projects, our
Olde English Tea fund-aising event and our Scholarship programs. We
set up a computer monitor to play a video from the 2002 Special Kids
Day Event and photos from the Olde English Tea. We also had a raffle
for one ticket to attend the Tea. Copies of our June Newsletter, Bookmarks
with the Zonta colet, Zonta Business Cards, and a book explaining our
various projects were also on display. The biggest draw to our table
were bottles of water with the club's 30th anniversary logo and name.
Thank goodness for hot summer days.
We had a great turnout
of members who circulated throughout the fair and talked to many of
the other attendees and guests. A great big Thank You to the Members
who attended:
