The council convened June 7, 2002 at the Interface Family Services Conference Room. Members were presented with the Quarterly Financial Reports from Clint Lininger, Interface CFO. Interface is presently seeking to pay off the mortgage on the Pt. Hueneme Transitional Home. Judy Jenkins and Jeff Selby reported on the OCJP Service Standard #1 for the 24-hour crisis hotline providing the staff criteria. A live sample crisis call was presented, along with the data sheet for all required info that needed to be collected for each call. The process of how calls are routed was explained. Volunteer staffers handle over 12,000 calls each year. |

Retha Bowser stated we are still seeking new members for the council from the community. The volleyball clinic was postponed due to lack of financial support until a future date. Reminder cards were distributed for the Sept. 16th clinic. Cost to be $250 to benefit the shelter and Safe Journey Homes. A new dating violence prevention program is being initiated due to grant funding. A brochure that will be utilized was circulated. A Needs List (see below) was provided to all council members to circulate to the community. Jeff Selby agreed to have Gloria Gonzales provide Zonta with a copy of her quarterly update on the Safe Journeys homes for the newsletter and business meeting. Nominees for officers for the 2002-2003 term on the Council Board were presented and unanimously voted into office. Sue Chadwick was elected President, Joan Dzuro 1st Vice President and Tahnee Knight 2nd Vice President. |
